Setting up money
Give your server money that every plugin can use, with JPEconomy and Vault.
How it fits together
Vault is a small plugin that lets other plugins share one economy. JPEconomy holds the money, and plugins like JPShop and JPAuction reach it through Vault.
You can use another economy plugin instead of JPEconomy. Any economy that works with Vault works here too.
Set it up
- Put Vault and JPEconomy in your
pluginsfolder. - Restart the server. The console says
Registered as the Vault economy. - Type
/eco give <player> 100and then/balance <player>to check that money works.
If shops or other plugins say no economy is available, check that Vault is installed and that only one economy plugin is active.
Which plugins use money
JPAuction, JPCosmetics, JPCrates, JPEssentials, JPEvents, JPJobs, JPKits, JPLeaderboard, JPMenus, JPNpcs, JPQuests, JPShop and JPTeleport use money through Vault. JPChat uses it for chat game rewards.
Settings to look at first
These are in JPEconomy's config.yml:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
starting-balance | What new players start with |
max-balance | The most money one player can hold |
pay.min-amount | The smallest payment |
pay.confirm-above | Payments of this amount or more ask for a confirmation |
pay.tax-percent | Part of each payment that is taken away |
pay.requests.enabled | Turns /payrequest on or off |
A high starting balance makes it easy to farm money with extra accounts, especially on cracked servers. Start low if that matters on your server.
Extra currencies
Add currencies like gems or tokens in config.yml. Each one can have its own commands and top list. See the JPEconomy page for the full config.
Check your shop prices
After changing prices, run /shop checkconfig. It warns you when an item can be sold for more than it costs to buy, which would give players infinite money.
